Cross-Language Technologies XRCE's Cross-Language Technologies creates effective tools to overcome foreign language barriers. Created in August 2006, Cross-Language Technologies consolidates and extends a line of research active at XRCE since its inception. The majority of content being published on the Internet is now in a language other than English; companies are struggling to make their technical and sales material available in different languages to reach new markets while constantly updating existing versions; multinational institutions rely on the accessibility of their proceedings in all relevant languages to ensure transparency and prevent democratic imbalance. This combination of circumstances has created the need for more effective tools in dealing with language barriers, be they in the form of translation aids or tools to search multi-language document collections.
